I understand that it can be a daunting experience to seek counselling and choosing the right person for you can prove difficult.
So how can I help?
I work within the person centred approach which means that all sessions are client lead and that you are at the centre of all I do.
During my training I experienced several placements where I was lucky enough to gain knowledge and skills working with a wide range of individuals of all ages and backgrounds. This included a year in a primary school working with children, and I have also worked with a client who had learning difficulties and am able to tailor sessions to incorporate your individual requirements.
I deal with a wide range of issues including trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, work related issues, and abuse. I also have a special personal interest in working with people who have a disability or long term health condition.
I will offer a safe and welcoming environment for you to allow you to explore what has brought you to seek counselling, and give you the space and time that you need to think, talk and process what is happening for you. I am a member of the BACP (British Association Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and I work within their ethical framework, meaning that I have regular supervision, and I also attend regular training and development days
I treat the first sessions as an assessment for us to get to know each other and see if we feel able to work together.
